Biking - adventure on two wheels

Thrilling mountainbike trails, relaxed e-bike tours, challenging single routes and signposted tours around Lake Thun offer something for every preference and level of fitness. The BEATUS is the perfect base for discovery tours on two wheels. You can rent gravel bikes and E-Bikes from us (depending on availability). 

In Switzerland, you must be 16 years old – or 14 years old with a moped license – to ride an e-bike. 

What you can expect:

Experience the Bernese Oberland from the bike saddle. Varied and exciting tours around Lake Thun and the picturesque surrounds promise an unforgettable biking experience. The adventure begins right outside our front door. Whether you want to tackle a panorama route or enjoy fantastic views after a climb, the hotel’s own bikes give you the chance to discover a new world on two wheels.

Our spirited e-bikes and e-mountainbikes turn the steepest slope into a pleasure. Enjoy all the pleasures of biking without raising a sweat. The many routes bring you to the heart of nature; say hello to wild chamois and our Alpine crow.

Whether you choose a gentle tour along the Lake Thun shoreline or a cultural e-bike tour along the Diemtigtal House Trail, well signposted routes and battery changing stations guarantee an unforgettable experience. 

 

Road bike

Road bike tours in the region

Choose from around 24 challenging road bike routes in the region. The level of difficulty ranges from easy to hard. The Outdoor Active Map can give you an overview of which route will suit you best. How about a tour around Lake Thun? The route is 47.59 km, lasts around 2 hours and the starting point is right outside our front door. Your journey starts in the direction of Interlaken. From Spiez, head towards Thun, then follow the lake road back to the hotel.

Bike Adventure

The full-on biking experience

Do you want even more adventure? The Bikepark around Lake Thun offers a variety of trails, pump tracks and a dirt park, all built with a great deal of passion. Wrestle your bike down flow trails, over root and rock, around obstacles and into banked curves. The Steffisburg dirt park provides an extra challenge for the even more adventurous. At Wiriehorn, slip and slide yourself and your gravel bike down the mountain and let the chairlift take you back to the start in comfort. From Thun you can also reach the head of the popular and challenging Rabenfluh Trail. Several pump tracks can be ridden with every sort of sporting device imaginable.
