Cross-country skiing

The region offers varied and attractive trails for beginners and advanced skiers. Glide through the snowy Alpine landscape with the phenomenal view of the mountain panorama your constant companion. Each trail has its own challenge and charm. Find your own personal favourite.

Your experience in the Diemtigtal Nature Park passes through snowy woods, alongside icy streams and over snow-covered meadows. Either skating or classical, the 22-km network of trails offers different levels of difficulty and a variety of starting points (between Schwenden and Zwischenflüh).

In the Justistal side valley, ski the 12-km trail along the Grönbach stream, past the site of the popular Chästeilete (cheese festival), up to the Hindersberg and back. A winter paradise with guaranteed snow, the starting point at the Niederhorn is clearly signposted.

30 km of classical and skating trails with fabulous views connect Aeschi, Aeschiried and the peaceful, idyllic Suldtal(Suld valley). For something different, try the 4 km flood-lit night trail at Aeschiried (Monday to Friday from 6.00 to 9.00 pm). The trails in Aeschi provide sporting opportunities in nature for every level.

A 13-km trail across a snow-covered moor awaits. The Lombachalp is the ideal place to put on your cross-country skis for the first time. An excellently prepared course will surprise you with its breath-taking view of the mountains. Habkern Ski School offers regular introductory courses; an experienced instructor will be happy to introduce you to the joys of cross-country and tell you what you need to know.
