Good to know (Hotel)

    1. How do I best get to the Hotel?
      With public transport:
      The closest train station is in Thun and offers outstanding direct connections to and from Bern, Basel and Zurich, but also to and from Germany (ICE) and Italy. From Thun, bus number 21 travels to Merligen every 30 minutes. Arrive or depart from the bus stop located directly in front of the BEATUS Wellness & Spa Hotel. Or, how about taking a boat from Thun station directly to the Hotel?

      By car:
      Take the A6 and exit the highway at Thun-Nord/Gunten. Follow the signs toward Gunten and drive along Lake Thun towards Merligen. From Lörrach/Basel, the trip takes about 1.5 hours and 1.75 hours from Zurich.
    2. Is there parking at the Hotel?
      The Hotel has outside parking as well as a garage; however, this is not locked. Parking is free for guests with direct bookings.
    3. From what time can Hotel guests arrive and/or check in?
      The rooms are available from 4 pm. If you arrive earlier, you are welcome to visit the Wellness area. Reception will provide you with your bathing bag including sauna towel, bathrobe and Wellness slippers. Changing rooms and lockers are located at the entrance to the spa area.
    4. Does the Hotel have direct access to the lake?
      The Hotel BEATUS sits directly on the shore of Lake Thun and has its own private lake access for Hotel guests. Enjoy a refreshing swim in Lake Thun or take a trip on the boat. The pier for the regular boat service is immediately in front of the Hotel.
    5. Can I register in advance for excursions with the Guides?
      The excursions led by our Guides are a special plus for our Hotel guests. An advance booking for the excursions is *normally not possible. However, you can come to the Information desk in front of the “Orangerie Piano Bar” every Monday to Friday from 9 to 10 am. An advance booking may be required for individual excursions: this will be noted on the programme. *Deviations from this rule cannot be excluded during the pandemic. We will be happy to provide you more information when you arrive.
    6. Can I register for the sports lessons in advance?
      Our sports and relaxation programme adds fun and movement, as well as relaxation and deceleration into your holidays. We prepare an energetic programme each day that you are highly welcome to join, *with no need to register in advance. *Deviations from this rule cannot be excluded during the pandemic. We will be happy to provide you more information when you arrive .

 

Good to know(current Situation/COVID-19)

Please note that as of Monday, 13 September 2021, only persons with a valid Covid certificate (vaccinated, recovered, tested) will be allowed access to the hotel. The certificate obligation applies to persons from 16 years of age.

  1. What is a Covid certificate and how do you get one?

  2. Vaccinated? The following conditions must be met:
    1. the vaccine is licensed in Switzerland.

    2. the vaccination must be complete. This means that it must include the number of vaccine doses according to the recommendations of the FOPH.  

    The Covid certificate for vaccinated persons is valid for 365 days from the administration of the last vaccine dose. All further information on how to obtain your Covid certificate can be found on the respective canton's page.

  3. Recover? The following conditions must be met: 
    You can get a Covid certificate if the Covid disease has been confirmed by a positive PCR test and no longer than 180 days ago.

    The validity starts from the 11th day after the positive test result and lasts for 180 days from the test result. You can apply for the Covid certificate in the canton using an online form. The certificate will then be sent to you in paper form by post.
  4. Tested? The following conditions must be met:
    + Antigen rapid test: A certificate can be obtained by means of an antigen rapid test. This test is valid for 48 hours. You can have an antigen rapid test carried out at an approved pharmacy or test centre (***). It is important that the Covid certificate is issued by the test centre afterwards.

    + PCR test: A certificate can be obtained by means of a PCR test. This test is valid for 72 hours.

General questions about the current situation.  

    1. Is the Wellness area open?
      Our Wellness and Spa area remains open during the usual hours for Hotel guests. For non-hotel guests a managed and controlled reopening is emerging as follows: Seasonal & annual subscriber: welcome to water world & sauna at defined times. External guests: Tickets for the water world (open-air solbad & sports pool) and the sauna park are available for purchase at this link - a ticket is essential for entry. The box office does not guarantee admission.
    2. Can I also take my meals in my room?
      You are welcome to eat your BEATUS gourmet board in your room. Do please notify us well in advance so we can provide smooth service. There is a room service fee of CHF 25.
    3. Do you still offer breakfast as usual (buffet)?
      We offer our guests the same culinary selections, but at various stations around the kitchen.
    4. Have you adapted your cancellation conditions?
      We continue to offer our guests flexibility in the event of a cancellation. You can cancel your reservation without charge up to 30 days before arrival. If you need to cancel your booking within 30 days of arrival, you will have the possibility to postpone. You are welcome to state your preferred dates so that we can check availability and offer you the prices for the desired season. You can postpone your reservation at any time. If, unexpectedly, there is no alternative date available, we will make every effort to sell on the room booked for you. If this is not possible, we will need to invoice you for the stay. However, you will be able to deduct the invoiced amount from your next stay.
    5. What happens if a guest cannot use their booking owing to a positive test result?
      In this event we recommend you contact your travel insurance. The Hotel does not provide travel cancellation insurance. If you have tested positive before your trip, please inform us by phone so that we can start to look for another solution with you.
    6. What happens if the Hotel needs to close?
      If the Hotel needs to close, Hotel guests will be contacted by phone or electronically. Your room reservation would be cancelled without charge.
    7. Have prices been reduced as there is no buffet at the Moment?
      We continue to offer the entire selection of treats and specialities. Even if this needs to be offered in alternative forms for the protection of our staff and guests, we have made no concessions to quality or quantity. Price reductions are thus not foreseen.
