Medicinal Plants - “Weeds” - Delicacies

Pedro-Drogerie Brechbühl Sigriswil

How many of us know all the valuable medicinal plants that grow in our everyday places, the aromatic wild vegetables to be encountered on every walk and how nature provides the appropriate remedies at the right time?

The fact that thyme can help relieve coughs, caraway flatulence and valerian sleeping problems is commonly known. Not everyone is aware of the styptic effect of shepherd’s purse, the pain-relieving properties of willow bark and how sanicula can support tissue repair. We enjoy wild-growing plants as delicacies, such as the young shoots of hops as wild asparagus, or the young leaves of plantain as a raw salad ingredient but also as an effective remedy with anti-inflammatory properties for insect bites.

Discover the great variety of herbs, wild medicinal plants and much more in both our activities, under the expert guidance of herbalist Peter Brechbühl from Sigriswil.
