Naturpark Hohgant

Cultural and natural landscape, mountain and lake are the magnificent elements of the “Thunersee Hohgant” region. Smooth hills, impressive ravines in the “Flysch” and the “Nagelfluh”, brusque lime-cliffs, caves and mystic moorlands. Geology, ice age and erosion produced a rarely various mosaic of habitat in the “Thunersee Hohgant” region. From gloomy, humid and deep places until extremely dry, warm and nutrient-poor places, everything will be discovered. Not only the human, but also the eagle, the capricorn, the deer, the lynx and the capercailzie feel well in the planned, around 350 square meters natural park “Thunersee Hohgant”.
